Job Title: Senior Policy Communications Executive

Brussels  |  Full-time  |  Permanent  |  Apply by 7 July 2026

Do you believe that getting communications right is one of the most powerful forces in public life — and do you know how to help clients cut through the noise and make their voice count?

Can you pick up a Commission document and immediately know what it means for your clients — and how to turn that into communications that actually lands?

Do you believe that the most effective advocacy happens when it’s part of a coordinated communications campaign — and do you know how to build one?

We are looking for a Senior Policy Communications Executive to join our Brussels team. At LOW Associates, we take a research-first, enquiry-driven approach to everything we do — because we believe, as Bertrand Russell put it, in the painful necessity of thought. That rigour is what separates good work from great work. This is, above all, a communications role: you will be the person who takes the complexity of Brussels and turns it into clear, compelling, strategic content that moves thinking and drives action. You will work alongside a handpicked, multicultural team on high-profile EU and private sector projects, with a clear path to grow into a Project Manager role. This role reports to the Client Services Director.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Own the day-to-day communications delivery across EU-level projects — from social media campaigns and editorial content to newsletters, stakeholder engagement, event communications, and monthly reporting

  • Track EU policy developments closely — and know instinctively how to extract the communications angles that matter to our clients and their audiences

  • ‍Map stakeholder landscapes and help shape targeted engagement strategies that open the right doors

  • ‍Build and manage client relationships across EU institutions and the private sector with confidence — acting as a trusted day-to-day point of contact

  • ‍Develop communications strategies, proposals, and content briefs aligned to client objectives

  • ‍Use AI tools to work more efficiently, produce better content, and improve team workflows — we will give you the training and support to get the most out of them

  • ‍Use social media with real strategic intent — to build communities, shift narratives, and drive engagement that can be measured and defended

  • ‍Contribute to new business proposals and pitches

  • ‍Represent LOW Associates at EU events, conferences, and policy roundtables — and know how to make those moments count

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Policy communications experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a communications role — ideally in a Brussels-based consultancy, EU institution, think tank, NGO, or trade association

  • ‍Strong understanding of EU institutional processes — how the Commission, Parliament, and Council operate, and how policy decisions are made and communicated

  • ‍Ability to read and synthesise complex EU policy material and translate it into clear, compelling communications — not to produce lobbying documents, but to extract the messages that matter

  • ‍The beginnings of a Brussels network — and the drive, curiosity, and people skills to grow it fast. Relationships are at the heart of this work.

Communications & digital skills

  • A proven track record producing high-quality communications content — social media, editorial, reports, briefings — to a client-ready standard, with at least three years of hands-on experience

  • ‍Strategic command of social media: how to use platforms to build communities, shift narratives, and drive real engagement

  • ‍Curious and confident about AI — you actively use it, experiment with it, and look for ways it can make your work better (training and support provided)

  • ‍Fluent in English (required); proficiency in at least one other European language is a plus

  • ‍A Master’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification is required

HOW YOU WORK

  • Skilled at juggling multiple projects and deadlines without losing quality or attention to detail — you thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills — confident in client-facing situations and comfortable representing LOW Associates externally

  • ‍Intellectually curious and self-directed — you ask the harder questions, sweat the details, and take pride in work that holds up under scrutiny

  • A collaborative team player who brings positive energy, creative thinking, and genuine commitment to every brief

  • ‍Resilient and adaptable — able to stay focused and deliver under pressure

  • ‍Some experience of managing or mentoring junior colleagues — you take responsibility for the quality of work coming out of your team and invest in the people around you

WHAT WE OFFER

  • ‍Competitive salary, with a genuine path towards a Project Manager role as you grow with us

  • Hybrid working — with genuine flexibility built in

  • Meal vouchers, Transport and Home working allowance

  • A genuinely international, multicultural team that cares about rigour, creativity, and doing work that makes a difference

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

LOW Associates is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and have published a Gender Equality Plan. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences — our multicultural team is one of our greatest strengths, and we want it to stay that way.

If you have something unforgettable to say about yourself, we want to hear it.

HOW TO APPLY

Please send your CV, a short cover letter (no more than half a page), and responses to the questions below (max. 150 words each) to job@loweurope.eu with the subject line: “Application – Senior Policy Communications Executive, Brussels”.

  1. Share a piece of communications work that best illustrates your experience — what was the brief, what did you create, and what made it effective?

  2. Give us a concrete example of how you have used social media to achieve a specific goal for a client or organisation — what was the objective, what did you do, and what happened?

  3. We work across EU institutional and private sector clients. How would you approach managing the very different expectations of these two client types at the same time?

Deadline to apply: 7 July 2026

First-round interviews will be held online.

Final interviews will take place in person in Brussels in summer 2026.
